Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link Opens
The Thai capital's new Airport Rail Link will commence its full service operations next Monday, August 23, 2010. However, the baggage check-in system is not yet up and running.
Fares on the public line start at 15 baht and increase by five baht for each station to a maximum fare of 45 baht while the non-stop Airport Express Train cost s150 baht and takes just 22 mintues from Phayahtia station to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The passenger capacity is some 600-700 persons for each train. An integrated ticketing system will be applied later linking with the elevated BTS Skytrain, the MRT subway and buses.
