Leon Koudelak
Leon Koudelak is a winner of the “Fundation Jacinto e Inocencio Guerrero” guitar competition in Madrid. Awarded the Appreciation Prize by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research for artistic performances; he has performed throughout Europe, South America and Asia. He performed premiere works by composers, K.H. Stockhausen, R. Haubenstock Haubenstock-Ramati and M. Buchrainer. In 2002, Leon led the premiere in the “Evasion 2002 – Eschner - Guitar Concert” by Michael Buchrainer with the “Symphony Orchestra Liechtenstein” at the Festival of Liechtenstein LiGiTa.
Leon has recorded with Tyrolis Classics and to date, produced 5 CD’s: “Guitar Music from Spain, Mexico and Brazil” (1989); “Modern Trend of Factories for Guitar” (1992); “Joaquin Rodrigo – guitar music” (1994); “Pavana Triste” (1997) and his last,“Exotic Fruits” (2002), was voted CD of the year by the “French Technical Periodical.”
Leon is founder of the Liechtenstein Guitar days LiGiTa, one of the most important music events in Europe. Since 2001, he has served as Artistic Director of the International Thailand Guitar Festival in Bangkok, one of the largest and most important festivals of the guitar in Asia.
