7th Thailand International Guitar Festival 2007
Mitsuo Yoshimoto
From Nagoya, Japan, Mitsuo Yoshimoto studied the guitar under Kyouei Shimogaki, Akinobu Matsuda, the late Yoshio Hohsido, Alirio Diaz and J.L. Gonzales in Spain. He has also studied the Renaissance Lute under Shin Watanabe. Moreover, he received valuable advice from J. Bream, J. Thomas and C. Parkning when they visited Japan.
In 1972, he began his career as a classical guitarist and has since released two CD’s: “Guitar Solo Album 1” (Recuerdos de la Alhambra) in 2001 and “Guitar Solo Album 2” (La Catedral) in 2003. In 2005 and 2006, he was invited as one of the juries of “Moisycos International Guitar Competition” in Italy, and gave his solo concert there as a guest artist, which was enthusiastically received.
At present, Mitsuo belongs to three guitar associations in Japan including the “Japan- Spain Guitar Association” and the “Professional Guitarist Association”. He also acts as one of the directors with the “Central Districts of Japan Guitar Association” and the “Nagoya Classic Players Association”.
We are looking forward to more of his activities throughout the world.
