Kamala Sukosol: Silver Jubilee Concert

The Siam City Hotel’s annual fundraiser aims to raise over Bht. 2.8 million for the Thai Red Cross Society’s Craniofacial Center. An event packed with fantastic entertainment by Kamala Sukosol, President of Siam City Hotels & Resorts and one of Thailand’s leading jazz singers with an awesome stage presence. The “Queen of Big Band Jazz,” Kamala received well-deserved nation-wide acclaim for her performance of Boyd Kosiyabong’s “Live & Learn” in 2003. Written by Boyd Kosiyabong, the song went on to become one of Thailand’s greatest all-time inspirational hits. Joining her are the 20-member Prachin Songpow Big Band Orchestra and special guests, Pun-Paibuljkiat Kheokao, Ben Chalatit, Dolchai Boonyaratavej, Marisa Nunbhakdi and singer-actor, Krissada (Noi) Clapp, recipient of 2007 Suphannahong Award for the acclaimed movie, “13”. Together with the talented dancers of Aree School of Dance Arts, audiences are guaranteed to leave feeling alive and energized.
The 2007 concert programme will feature big band arrangements of timeless jazz standards: Cole Porter’s In The Still of The Night, Frank Sinatra’s For Once In My Life, When You’re Smiling, and the music of Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman. Audiences will also be treated to the pop hits, Unbreak My Heart, I Can See Clearly Now, Lady Marmalade, Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You and One Night Only from the movie, Dream Girls.

Kamala Sukosol is one of Thailand’s leading jazz singers with an awesome stage presence. Her inimitable style has been showcased in 18 concerts and over 20 recordings. Her charity concerts never fail to leave audiences in awe of her powerful and contagious energy. If you happen to arrive feeling a little lethargic, we guarantee you’ll leave energized. Since 1982, Kamala Sukosol’s concerts have raised millions of baht for various Thai charities. (For nine consecutive years, the Thai Red Cross Society has successfully secured much needed funds for the care of needy patients.)
