Siam City Chain Hailed - Total Energy Management (TEM) Award Winner

Siam Hotels & Resorts is the proud recipient of the Total Energy Management (TEM) Award - bestowed on hotels with an exemplary record in energy consumption and concern for the environment. The recipients were the Siam City Hotel (Bangkok), Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa (Pattaya) and Siam Bayview Hotel (Pattaya).

Presented by the Energy Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University, in conjunction with the Ministry of Energy and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the award was set up to train and evaluate the energy management programs of hotels throughout Thailand.

To pass the evaluation and inspection criteria, all of the hotels replaced traditional chiller systems with new generation air-conditioning units and switched from using bunker oil to environmentally-friendly biodegradable biodiesel fuel for water boilers. The hotels also applied energy control measures to efficiently manage their energy usage at levels less harmful to the environment.

Winning the TEM awards illustrates the Siam groups' dedication and commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment for guests and employees. Continuous involvement in government-sponsored programs and investment in modern environmentally-friendly infrastructure demonstrates an ongoing commitment, by management and the owner, towards safeguarding the environment.
