Part of the Proceeds Will Benefit the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer for the Underprivileged, Thai Red Cross Society

The nation's leading family of artistes will again present an exhibition of contemporary bronze sculptures in down-town Bangkok. This year this will present 120 pieces honouring the philosophy that unity and harmony are the means to achieving peace. On show will be sculptures by celebrated Thai and National Artist, Chamruang Vichienket, along with those of his wife, the distinguished sculptress Saovapa, and his son, Yanpol, another sculptor. Also displaying their skill will be his other two sons, Nithi and Nathee, both accomplished painters.

Chamruang will display the bronze casting of his award-winning piece "Group", which was recently installed at the Bank of Thailand's new wing. Saovapa will present her newest project, a sculpture of the Lord Buddha, in the graceful style of the Sukhothai period. Accomplished sculptor Yanpol will reveal a humoristic approach to his work, drawing on everyday household items. Nithi and Nathee, the only painters in the family, join the sculptors with a display of unique paintings using unusual combinations of colour to represent the idea of "harmony".

In addition to the on-going exhibition, on Tuesday, December 15, will be held a special sculpture auction and opening ceremony from 6:30 pm onwards.

Exhibition hours are from 10:00 to 20:00 daily. The City Gallery is located on the 2nd level of the Siam City Hotel's Garden Pavilion.
