Volunteering at the Bangkok School for the Blind

The Foundation for the Blind in Thailand, under the patronage of H.M. the Queen, is a private charity. It provides loving support to the local blind community, by means of enhancing their knowledge, capabilities and experiences that are essential for daily living.
The Siam City Hotel‘s Green Leaf Program has joined with @suthisayachai (Khun A Suthisayachai Trailapwiti) and Khun Kathy Kewpie to organise this fabulous volunteer activity.

14:00 to 15:00 Registration (receive souvenir) and coffee break
15:00 to 16:45 Volunteers run activities with students
17:00 to 18:00 Dinner for all!
In addition, the following donations are greatly appreciated.
1. A4 paper: in good condition, not creased and used only one side.
2. Amenities: soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, talc powder, shampoo, tissue, radio battery (2A or 3A), etc.
3. Food stuffs: rice, sugar, salt, sauce, ketchup/tomato sauce, oil, chilli sauce, sweet snacks, etc.

Volunteer job requirements
- Making audio tapes and CDs (textbooks, literature, documentary, etc)
- IT skills (teaching students how to use computers, typing, searching on the Internet, etc)
- Homework teaching (maths, Thai, science, social science, etc)
- Language teaching (English, Chinese, Japanese and French)
- Music teaching (Thai music, foreign music, piano)
- Media creation for blind instruction
- Public relations
- Recreation
- Library

Qualification of volunteers
- Any gender or age acceptable
Voluntary periods
- No time limitation, business days and weekends
Volunteer regulations
- Filling in a volunteer form
- Contact a volunteer officer to arrange suitable work
- Always wear a volunteer badge when at the school. Volunteers can acquire a badge at the volunteer office.
- Recording attendance times, both start and finish, in ledger at the volunteer office.
- Volunteers can acquire certification from the volunteer office.
- Dressing properly.
- School business hours are 9:00 – 18:00 daily.
